Creating Purpose By Joy Oyedepo

We hear so much about discovering purpose – and this is a real concept, a living need – but what about the place of creating purpose. Too many of us go through life searching; hoping to one day discover our purpose, that we end up not living at all.

We pray, fast, even cry to God to reveal this purpose but get no response; then we say God has no respect for our lives. This is not at all true. Why cry to God about something already in your hand?

No child asks their father for a lollipop after he hands it to them – they cry before they get their needs answered. Well, good thing God had all that planned out and gave us our “lollipop” vision, way before we could even cry out.

Yet, how sad that we see many friends, family, and even some of us reading this today, cry for what God had already handed to us.

For I know the plans I have towards you says the lord of hosts, plans of good and not of evil, to give you a hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11).

We misquote this scripture too often. God says He knows the plans; He’s not holding it over our heads to see how good we’ll be or worse, how good we’ve been, before He shows this to us.

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness… (II Peter 1:3). God already has given us all the things required for life – not for existence but for life.

You are so special to God, He packaged in you all you would ever need to succeed. In you today, lies all you will need for success.

It’s time we stopped blaming God. He’s the main Carpenter but gave us His instruction manual and all the tools we would ever need to create, recreate, adjust, bolt, and live this gift of a life.

Know this now: If you do not achieve all of the dreams He deposited in you, it is not His fault – it will ALL be your fault. Only the lazy blame the chief for a problem the citizen committed. It’s time for us to take responsibility for our own lives.

The heart of the father always will be with the son but the son is the one who must mature – or else, he forever remains a child. God is growing and developing us to become the persons we always dreamt of.

Eye hath not seen nor ear heard, the things that I have in store for them that love me (I Corinthians 2:9). God has great things in store for us but it is our duty to manifest.

You must have Christ in your life to know the way of God on every issue in life. This simply means that you must be born again, and you can only do so by having a personal relationship with Him.

You can do this by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. That way, you will be saved.
